Trace — Support

Trace is a small, personal iOS app for capturing items you share from the iOS share sheet and viewing them as a daily report.

Getting started

  1. Open any iOS app that supports sharing (Safari, Photos, Notes, X, etc.).
  2. Tap the share button.
  3. Pick Trace from the share sheet. If it isn’t there, tap More, scroll to Trace, and turn it on.
  4. Open Trace. Today’s report shows what you’ve shared today.
  5. Use the calendar icon to browse past days.

Exports

Trace can export your daily reports to:

Exports are always explicit. Trace never syncs in the background without your action.

Common issues

The share extension doesn’t appear in the share sheet. Open the share sheet, tap More (at the end of the icon row), then Edit, and turn Trace on.

Open Graph previews aren’t loading. Some sites block automated requests. Trace waits 5 seconds for a page to respond, then falls back to whatever metadata iOS provided. The item is still saved.

Notion sends are failing. Re-connect your workspace in Settings → Notion. The Notion authorization can expire if you revoke it from Notion’s side.
